MāRDAVA SUMMER Retreat

SHAKE THE DUST & EMBODIED YIN IN DENMARK

AUG 7 - AUG 9 2026

Details below

Join us this summer as we gather on Samsø to shake, embrace, dance, and feel.

This three-day retreat invites you to explore the balance between yielding and forward motion / strength and softness / expression and stillness. The element of Fire will guide us as an inner sense - the intelligence that knows when to step forward, when to pause, and when to rest. Our source of strength and softness, not as two opposing qualities, but as one needs the other to exist.

Through the practices of Shake The Dust and Embodied Yin,

we celebrate what is alive,

we shake off what is not ours,

and we soften into what is here.

An invitation to embrace and widen the inner space, so that more life can move through us.
A returning, again and again, to yourself and to life itself.

This retreat welcomes you in your fullness and your emptiness,

in your wildness and your gentleness,

in your loud and your quiet.

All parts of you are welcome.

The practices

Morning practice: Somatic movement and Shake The Dust

Mornings are devoted to energising somatic movement: rhythmic, intuitive, and alive. We shake, pulse, spiral, and explore dynamic movement inspired by yoga, pilates and HIIT that invites circulation, heat, and expression.

Letting energy move you as you.

Afternoon space: Integration and rest

Spacious time to walk by the sea, nap, write, float, digest, enjoy sauna or do nothing at all.

Afternoon/evening practice: Embodied Yin and softness

Long, restorative yin sessions invite you to soften and nurture. We will also gather in a chanting circle and enjoy sauna rituals: spaces to gather and connect through sound, heat, and stillness.

The space

Our retreat home is Mellem Rummet on the beautiful and peaceful island of Samsø. Surrounded by calm nature and just a 10-minute walk from the ocean, it offers the perfect setting for rest, reflection, and reconnection. You can enjoy refreshing swims and long walks along the shore.

The retreat space itself is warm, open, and filled with beautiful energy. We will practice in the stunning shala, “The Dojo”, a soulful and atmospheric space designed for deep practice, presence, and connection. For extra grounding and relaxation, we will also have access to a sauna with aromatic therapy.

The retreat center is a spiritual sanctuary and offers lovingly designed rooms and glamping tents in aesthetic and comfortable surroundings.

the teacher: LEna Charlotte

Lena is the retreat host and will guide you through the practices and days. She is a yoga teacher and holistic chef who creates spaces of embodiment practices, a grounded spirituality, inner work and nourishment. Her teaching invites honest movement, deep listening, and the courage to feel all that life is. She weaves somatics, yoga, ritual, and seasonal wisdom into spaces that are warm, embracing, and deeply nourishing.

You can read more about her life’s path and education here.
